Hank Fellows shared songwriting tips with students at a southern Connecticut high school, where he served as "Guest Composer" at their "Young Composers Concert", April 2008.
"The Spirit of America" and "Halfway to Heaven" were performed by a young vocalist in Shanksville, PA, August 2008, at the dedication of a steel girder cross from the World Trade Center, near the site where Flight 93 crashed on 9/11/01. The inscription on the cross reads: "Never forget: We honor those who saw their untimely fate before them and chose to defeat evil to ensure America's freedom - Flight 93".
Hank spoke at the Veterans Day ceremony at a Middle School in northern Georgia, Nov. 2008. The Middle School Chorus sang "My Coat of Many Colors" and "Halfway to Heaven" at this ceremony.
Hank Fellows with Lois Smith, the gifted Choral Director at the above Middle School in northern Georgia. Ms. Smith has featured Hank's songs in several of her school's Concerts, including "The Spirit of America" and "Halfway to Heaven" at their Fort Benning, GA performance in Sept. 2009 (see above Fort Benning photo).
"One Heart, One Voice", "Halfway to Heaven", and "The Spirit of America" were performed at the annual 9/11 memorial commemoration in the Borough of Queens, NYC, Sept. 2008. This ceremony honors all of the Queens, NY victims of the 9/11 attacks, including the 76 firefighters who lived in the Borough of Queens.
"The Spirit of America" was performed by the students at an elementary school in southern California at their Patriotic Fair, Feb. 2008.
